Pennsylvania is two cities and the land between them

Philadelphia (DMA #5) and Pittsburgh (DMA #27) anchor the state at its east and west corners. They don't share a commerce pattern. Philadelphia is a Mid-Atlantic retail and pharma hub that shares an ad-buying pattern with the New York metro across the Delaware; Pittsburgh is a Midwestern-feeling industrial + healthcare economy that looks more like Cleveland than like Philly. The middle of the state — Harrisburg, Allentown, Scranton — fingerprints as Central PA with its own Comcast-heavy footprint.

Comcast (AS7922) is headquartered in Philadelphia and the state's residential market is accordingly Comcast-heavy. Their allocations cover most of the Philadelphia metro plus the Harrisburg / Lancaster / York triangle and significant coverage in Pittsburgh (where they compete with the legacy Time Warner / Spectrum footprint). Verizon Fios (AS19262) is the primary fiber competitor in SE Pennsylvania, especially in the Main Line suburbs of Philadelphia.
