New York state proxies — from the

New York is two different networks. The five boroughs run on Verizon and Spectrum dense CGNAT; upstate runs on Spectrum and Verizon Fios. The IP geo signal differs accordingly.

Two New Yorks

The state splits cleanly: downstate (NYC metro, Long Island, most of the Hudson Valley) on DMA 501, and Buffalo on DMA 54, with a long tail of smaller markets — Rochester, Albany, Syracuse, Binghamton — that round out the state's network footprint. For most proxy work, "New York" means NYC unless you explicitly ask for upstate.

NYC's network is unusually dense and unusually biased toward Verizon. Verizon Wireless AS22394 has been the dominant NYC mobile carrier since before the iPhone launched there, and Verizon Fios (AS19262 among others) is the highest-penetration fiber service in the boroughs. Spectrum runs the legacy Time Warner Cable footprint across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island; Comcast does not serve NYC proper.

Why the NYC pool is the most valuable in our network

NYC is the single highest-value metro for US ad verification, brand-safety checking, and DTC retail intel. The reasons:

  1. Ad-spend density. More agency-side ad buying happens through Manhattan offices than any other US city. Ad creative is often QA'd against NYC-IP reference renders first.
  2. Financial services adtech. Fintech and banking campaigns frequently geo-gate to the NYC DMA with distinct creative; capturing the geo-gated variant requires a real NYC exit.
  3. TikTok and Meta NYC-specific inventory. Platform-side ad tools expose NYC-DMA reporting as a first-class pivot; being able to replicate the user-side experience in NYC is table stakes for verification.

A T-Mobile NYC 4G exit and a Verizon Fios residential exit in the same ZIP both resolve to "New York, NY" in commercial GeoIP but fingerprint quite differently. The carrier trust score is what the modern bot stacks consume, not the city string.

Upstate: Buffalo, Rochester, Albany

Buffalo has its own DMA (#54) and its own commerce pattern — Spectrum is dominant, mobile is split more evenly between the three majors. Rochester (#81) and Albany (#62) are smaller but sometimes appear in campaign DMA overrides for regional advertisers. We carry capacity in Buffalo and spot coverage in Rochester / Albany; if you need consistent DMA-specific work in upstate metros below Buffalo, ask before committing.

New York legal overlay

New York's SHIELD Act (2019) and the 2023 biometric privacy amendments apply to businesses with New York residents in their capture set. For most Proxaro customers targeting NY-resident users, the binding framework remains the federal CFAA. We gate primary ticketing out of the NY pool the same way we do nationally — the New York attorney general has been an active BOTS Act enforcer.

FAQ

New York 4G Mobile FAQ

  • What carriers power New York 4g mobile proxies?
New York exits announce from Verizon Wireless (AS22394), T-Mobile (AS21928), AT&T Mobility (AS20057). For 4g mobile specifically, the dominant ASNs are Verizon Wireless (AS22394) and T-Mobile (AS21928).
  • Which cities have the deepest New York pool?
Top metros by pool depth: New York, Buffalo. Secondary metros are live but with thinner concurrency.
  • Can I pin to a specific ASN inside New York?
Yes, on the Carrier plan and above. Pass X-PX-Asn with the ASN number (e.g. as22394) and X-PX-State: ny to scope the rotation.
  • What's the sticky session window on New York 4g mobile?
Up to 20 minutes on New York mobile (honest figure — tower handshakes force reassignment). Documented at 15 min for safety.
  • Any compliance notes specific to New York?
US work intersects the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) and the Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act. We gate hostile retail and any primary ticketing domain behind a documented intent-review, and we require customers to contractually attest that their workflow is not itself a violation of either statute. State-law overlays (CCPA in California, plus the 2024 Texas and Oregon equivalents) apply whenever captured pages carry PII.
